Hazardous waste taken over from the PUC “Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage”
Miteco Kneževac has taken over from the PUC "Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage" 35 m3 of hazardous waste (silicofluorohydrogen acid) which will be forwarded for permanent disposal.
Silicofluorohydrogen acid which "Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage", as a responsible public company, decided to permanently dispose of, was used earlier as a water disinfectant. As chlorine was later introduced as a standard, certain quantities of this acid has remained in the reservoirs.
Miteco Kneževac engaged the most up-to-date equipment, so for pumping out this acid a pneumatic membrane pump was used, specially made from materials resistant to this acid. For packaging of this type of hazardous waste, UN certified packaging was used, special protective equipment, and special safety measures were employed in order to protect people and the environment.
