Students of the Higher Education Institution for Applied Studies "Belgrade Polytechnics" in Belgrade visited the Company MITECO in Rakovica where they had the opportunity to see and get acquainted with different processes: recycling, disposal of hazardous waste, as well as remediation of PCB contaminated sites.
Students Visit Miteco
The visit was organized as part of regular classes and it was carried out in cooperation with Vesna Alivojvodić, M.Sc., a teacher at "Belgrade Polytechnics".
Student were greeted and welcomed by Branka Marinković, Assistant General Manager, Nebojša Tomašević, Sales and Marketing Manager, as well as Predrag Ozmo, Logistics Associate. Specially prepared presentations were presented which were aimed at getting the students better acquainted with the strategy and business results of the company, as well as with the most significant projects.
Aside from the presentation, the students had a chance to get acquainted with the functioning of each of the sectors, and the company as a whole, and staff members answered questions and offered advice to students. As part of the last segment of the visit, a tour of the plant and transfer stations was organized where Predrag Ozmo, Logistics Associate, informed them about the process of storage, export and disposal of hazardous waste and about the challenges that are faced in this process.
In the course of the visit, the students were also given guidelines for further career development, support and inspiration to constantly study and improve. The principal goal of the program of getting the students acquainted with the work of the MITECO was to help them to get better prepared for the labor market which they will be entering after graduation.
