Devices containing PCB oils
MITECO Kneževac, Electrical Engineering Institute „Nikola Tesla", Tekon Tehnokonsalting and Institute „Mol", have been assigned the task of resolving the PCB problem according to a decision of PE EPS. By making a decision on the awarding of the contract, the Public Enterprise "Electric Power Industry of Serbia" has awarded the contract for resolving the problem of electrical devices containing PCB oils, as per pubic tender - PROJEKAT IPA 2008 „Supporting environmental protection in the energy sector" – to a group of bidders including: MITECO Kneževac, Electrical Engineering Insititute „Nikola Tesla" i Tekon Tehnokonsalting from Beograda and the Institute „MOL" from Stara Pazova.
In the course of the next three years, a consortium of the above named companies will resolve the problem of electrical devices containing PCB oils, in compliance with local and international requirements, for the purpose of efficiently and cost-effectively reducing and eliminating risks to the environment.
Preventing the potential harmful effects of toxic PCB oils and materials contaminated with PCB oils on the environment is one of the tasks Serbia has to undertake as part of the EU-accession process. IPA projects in the EU are one of the ways of financing such projects, which include the Public Enterprise "Electric Power Industry of Serbia" as part of the project of resolving the problem of electrical devices containing PCB oils.
