Do you know what belongs to the hazardous waste and on which way it is treated safely? This is exactly what have learned the students of Faculty of Geography, University of Belgrade, who have visited the facility of company Miteco and got acquainted with the activities of the company, with its most important projects and with complete logistics regarding the adequate waste management.
MITECO OPENS DOORS FOR STUDENTS
Within many years of supporting of young people through various activities to acquire their practical knowledge, the Miteco this time has opened the door of the company and the its facility for twenty students of Faculty of Geography, who are studying at the Department of Environmental Geospatial base. The beginning of their one-day visit was marked by a presentation of the Company’s universal services such as: the recycling, the disposal of hazardous waste and the remediation of sites contaminated by PCB, which was presented by Mr Nebojsa Tomasevic, Head of Sales and Marketing.
After the presentations and meetings, it was organized a visit to the facility, during which the students could closely to see how it looks "on the ground“. The employees of the company from the logistics have explained the detailed process of collection, storage and permanent disposal of the waste, the process of decontamination of the devices that are contaminated with PCB, as well as the recycling of large electrical machines and permanent disposal of hazardous components.
In this way, the students have gained insight into a complete work environment of the waste management company, and received the guidance and advice on career development and professional development. Recognizing the importance of the practical education for the young people, especially in the recycling industry, the company Miteco will continue to organize the visits for high school students and university students, the presentations, as well as the program for the performance of the professional practice in the company.
