State Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Mrs. Stana Božović gave the opening speech in which she pointed out that a book of environmental protection projects should be published and presented at the forthcoming fair with a view to attracting potential investors to invest in this field in Serbia.
Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Mr. Aleksandar Vesić said that the fair should cover topics like the opening of Chapter 27 where Serbia is on the path of European integrations of the green economy and utilization of pre-accession IPA Funds, investment in the green economy, the stock market of ecological services, establishing a system of control in waste collection.
Representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Serbia pointed out that as part of the ECOFAIR they will organize a conference on local economic development, infrastructural projects and public private partnership, as well as a round table on the subject of certification of the recycling industry. Also, the fair will present the project of a regional landfill in Vinča, and a panel discussion on the waste stock market.
The National Alliance for Local Economic Development (NALED) pointed put that issues which need to be covered are packaging waste, primary selection of waste, electronic waste and that this should be illustrated with examples from the region.
Representatives from the Republic Hydrometerological Service of Serbia pointed out that at the fair they will present topics relating to protection of water and air in reference to climate monitoring which provides information necessary for the evaluation of suitability of construction of hydroelectric power plants and wind power plants.
It was also said at the meeting that it is necessary to include professional associations in the work of the organizational committee of the fair, to affirm environmental protection and recycling, but also to accomplish to have the ECOFAIR become a leader in environmental protection in the region.
This year's 11th International ENERGY Fair is scheduled to take place on October 14-16, 2015 at the Belgrade Fair.
