By realizing its activities in 2013, company Siemens d.o.o. Belgrade achieved notable results in all segments.
How would you briefly describe the plans for 2014?
Plans of Siemens in 2014, just like in the previous year, will be directed at further growth in all segments of operation. The previous year was marked by an increase in the volume of operations as the result of an increase in the number of orders of generators that are produced in our factory in Subotica. Thanks to this, in only one year we doubled the number of employees in the factory. We entered 2014 with ambitious plans in terms of continued improvement of production and achievement of even better results.
Plan of the company is to, in the next three years, realize an investment in the amount of 10 million Euros, primarily for the improvement of production, which will provide even better conditions for maintaining high standards of operation of the factory in Subotica.
What is also ahead of us is the next phase of expansion of cooperation with potential local suppliers. In 2013, we launched the Fair for Future Business Partners, which enabled the local manufacturers to become suppliers of Siemens' factory in Subotica. The goal of the fair is local production of 90 finished components for the factory in Subotica, which will contribute to even greater efficiency and faster delivery and will, at the same time, stimulate the development of small and medium sized enterprises in Serbia. Our team is currently visiting small and medium sized enterprises all over Serbia that have applied. We expect to establish the final number of suppliers who meet the necessary requirements within the next months, and to launch trial series, and then the serial production.

Education in this field has exceptional importance and it is something that needs to be implemented continuously. Proper disposal of waste, renewal of energy, decrease of emissions of gases, in addition to contributing to environmental protection, in our times also bring significant savings. Since the solutions that we produce are based exactly on ecological principles, this segment has been on extremely high level in operations of the company and among our employees. In the factory of wind turbines in Subotica, 75 percent of industrial waste generated as byproduct is recycled into the production. The fact that environmental protection is our priority is also reflected in the fact that the company has a separate department that is involved only in this area – EHS Environment Health and Safety. It is working on encouraging employees to act preventively and influence environmental protection, to conduct their business activities in accordance with relevant laws, regulations and other requirements related to environmental protection. Big companies such as Siemens must engage in this area and to give example to other with their own effort. We will certainly continue doing this in the future.
